Our Methodology

At CALMUS.NET, we believe that transparency is essential for trust. This page outlines how our calculators are built, the principles we follow, and the limitations of our tools.

Formula Accuracy and Transparency

Our calculation engines are based on industry-standard mathematical, financial, and scientific formulas. When multiple formulas exist for a given metric (such as BMR or Body Fat), we default to the most widely accepted clinical or academic standard, while often allowing users to toggle between different recognized formulas.

Rounding Behavior

We process all internal math using high-precision JavaScript floating-point engines. However, to make results readable, we generally round outputs to two decimal places unless greater precision is mathematically significant for the context of the calculation.

Health & Financial Limitations

Health: Our health calculators (like BMI, TDEE, Calorie) use standard anthropometric equations. These provide estimates based on population averages and cannot account for individual body composition, medical conditions, or unique metabolic rates. They are not medical advice.

Finance: Our financial tools provide estimates based on the exact inputs provided. They do not account for unstated fees, fluctuating interest rates, inflation (unless specified), or exact lender policies. They are not financial advice.

Update Policy

Formulas are periodically reviewed and updated. If recognized institutions (like the CDC, WHO, or IRS) update their official calculation models or tax brackets, we aim to reflect those changes in our relevant tools.
